We’ve all come across discount codes that offer us money off something, stores like Tesco and Sainsburys use them all the time to try and entice us to do our weekly shopping online with them. Finding and using voucher codes to buy other things such as mobile phones however isn’t something that we always think of doing.

When I bought my last mobile phone, I made the mistake of buying it in store on the high street without looking online at my options. It was good in that it gave me the chance to handle the phone and decide if I liked it, but bad in that I actually wasted money buying it this way. If I’d only realised it at the time, I could have got the same deal on the internet for less money!

The reason why I could have made a saving this way is twofold. Firstly many online stores can offer better prices on things (including mobile phones and contracts!) because they don’t have the overheads that a shop on the high street has. What i liked about their unlimited internet was if you use up the allowance they just stop you downloading during peak hours, instead of charging you a fortune for each mb over.
